Interacting with Law Enforcement:

Motor Vehicle Stops

This is for anyone who may feel uncomfortable at the thought of interacting with the police in this routine but stressful situation; we want both parties – the driver and the officer – to feel as relaxed as possible.
Course Description
According to a study by Stanford University, police pull over more than 50,000 drivers on a typical day and more than 20 million motorists every year. It’s safe to say that you may be included in this statistic at some point in your life. It’s important that you are well prepared for this type of interaction with law enforcement throughout the United States.

That is why OPTU created this Motor Vehicle Course. Our 12-minute video will promote safety, proper etiquette, and provide guidance for interacting with Law Enforcement during routine motor vehicle stops. This course is for anyone who may feel uncomfortable at the thought of interacting with police officers during routine motor vehicle stops. Our goal is for both parties – the motorist and officer – to remain calm and be safe as possible.

At the conclusion of this course, you will be asked to take a short quiz on what you learned in the video. If you pass with a score of 80% or higher, you will get a certification of completion along with invaluable knowledge on how to remain safe and calm during motor vehicle stops.
